Is our Piolet d'Or dead ?

F. MARSIGNY's brilliant idea, later adapted by J-C. MARMIER who was his president of the GHM at this time, the "Piolet d'Or" is dying.
It's not a festive event any longer, financial interests for hypothetical and sometimes questionable winners have too much influence. Times have changed and it's time for the "Piolet d'Or" to change. The "Piolet d'Or" should become a fun event again,

an opportunity for people to meet and share their experiences, an opportunity to put mountaineering and its values in the spot light.

On march 23rd, in Grenoble, the GHM will suggest to his partners that a new trophy should be developed. A new trophy which will be in harmony with today generation of leading mountaineers.

All of those who like, support and promote mountaineering are welcome to
come and work together with respect for each other's qualities, means and
status.
